Recent Charlotte Hornets trade acquisition Naz Reid was recently seen working out top NBA talent at the PLYRS UNTD runs this summer. Reid was one of 20+ players in attendance, including Chet Holmgren, Klay Thompson, Anthony Davis, Trae Young and recent No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa. Reid’s teammate, Sion James, had been spotted working out with Holmgren earlier this summer.
As the main piece coming back to Charlotte in the LaMelo Ball trade, expectations for Reid next season are high, as he hopes to shore up the Hornets’ frontcourt along with recent No. 14 overall pick Hannes Steinbach.
Last season with the Timberwolves, Reid averaged 13.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, one block and one steal. Over the last three seasons, Reid has been one of the league’s premiere bench players, finishing top-five in Sixth Man of the Year voting three times, including when he won the award after the 2023-24 season. Additionally, Reid has had a quite durable career, appearing in 68 or more games in every season besides his rookie campaign.
