After coming in with plenty of hype this season, the Los Angeles Chargers now have a 0-3 start after losing to the Buffalo Bills. Many are blaming quarterback Justin Herbert for this skid, as he threw a costly interception in the fourth quarter. The Chargers eventually lost 24-16.

Justin Herbert got engaged to singer Madison Beer earlier this year, and on the “Nightcap” podcast, former NFL star Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson suggested that Herbert is distracted and it may be because of his “love life.”

“I don’t know, man. He might be one of the few quarterbacks who seemed like he’s like he has regressed since the season started,” Johnson said. “The love life has blossomed off the field.”

This was when the other co-host, Shannon Sharpe, admitted that Herbert looked like a “totally different quarterback,” though he added that he does not know if the relationship with Beer has anything to do with this at all.

Johnson did note that maybe they are just overreacting to Justin Herbert playing badly, as it is still Week 3, which is still early in the season.

Since that loss to the Bills on Sunday, Justin Herbert has been getting criticized left and right. This includes seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady, who is now a broadcast analyst on Fox. The former Patriots quarterback placed Herbert on blast live on air soon after Bills defensive back CJ Gardner-Johnson intercepted his throw, eventually leading to the Bills winning the game.

Herbert threw for 226 yards and scored one touchdown with 20 out of 34 completions. The Chargers had the lead in the fourth quarter, but that interception eventually led to the Bills coming from behind to win.
