Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic to hold combined convocation after 19-years

The Rector noted that with the physical infrastructure now fully delivered, the management of the polytechnic is finalising internal logistical frameworks and administrative arrangements to welcome graduating cohorts, professional bodies, and institutional stakeholders.

Expanding Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance

Beyond the announcement of the long-awaited convocation, Dr Kado Doro highlighted substantial gains recorded in the institution’s academic quality control and course validation over the past year.

He revealed that Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic successfully secured full accreditation for 29 academic programmes in the preceding year.

The Rector framed this development as a key pillar in the management’s broader agenda to elevate technical education, enhance manpower development, and align the polytechnic’s curriculum with national industry standards across technical and vocational disciplines.

Outlook for Academic Stability

The upcoming combined convocation is expected to restore academic routine, ease the issuance of official certificates, and enhance career mobility for thousands of HUKP graduates who completed their studies over the past two decades.

With legislative approval pending for the upcoming budget year, the polytechnic’s leadership expressed confidence that continued support from the Katsina State Government will further stabilise the academic calendar and consolidate recent gains in infrastructure and accredited study options.
