After the last great Bayern Munich striker was snubbed for the Ballon d’Or, perhaps its time for the current one to snag it. Harry Kane had an incredible season, both for club and country, and positioned himself as the favorite candidate for the award after scoring the most number of goals in the top 10 leagues.

According to a graphic from Transfermarkt, Harry Kane finished at the absolute top of the goalscoring charts worldwide for the 2025/26 season across all competitions for club and country.

The England star racked up a jaw-dropping 73 (!) goals in 66 matches, putting him comfortably ahead of the rest of the world’s elite forwards. Strikingly, he holds a massive 14-goal cushion over second-place finishers Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland, who tied at 59 goals. After breaking Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 69 goals from the 2011/2012 season, the only name Harry Kane is competing with is Lionel Messi. Kane’s numbers just reiterate his qualities; an extraordinary level of durability and clinical finishing.

The list also features impressive seasons from surprising names, including Ireland’s Troy Parrott (37 goals) and Stuttgart’s Deniz Undav (31 goals), alongside established superstars. Undav having scored 31 and not even being a starter under Julian Nagelsmann is a conversation to have on its own, but fans can be happy nevertheless.
