Harry Kane opens up about Bayern Munich contract plans

Harry Kane has confirmed that he will hold talks with Bayern Munich in the coming days over a new contract.

Bayern Munich retained the German Super Cup after beating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 on Saturday at Signal Iduna Park.

Michael Olise and Nathaniel Brown scored for the German champions, while Dortmund’s Ramy Bensebaini was shown a red card in the 90th minute.

Harry Kane comments on Bayern Munich future

After the match, Kane spoke openly about his future, confirming that he expects to hold talks with Bayern officials over a new contract.

Kane said: “We’ll talk this week and next week. We’ll just have an open discussion. We’re not in a hurry or panicking. My full focus is on Bayern Munich and the upcoming season. The talks will take place behind the scenes. You’ll hear about it when there’s something to announce.”

The England striker is under contract with the German club until 2027. While there was interest from Barcelona, Kane has always wanted to stay at Bayern and extend his contract.

Christian Falk has exclusively told CFBayern Insider that Kane is expected to sign a minimum two-year extension with Bayern, which would keep him at the club until 2029.

With Kane keen to win more trophies with Bayern, the club could also offer him a two-plus-one-year contract, although that will depend on how much the striker wants to earn.

Max Eberl has more work to do at Bayern Munich

The German champions are not expected to sign any new players before the end of the transfer window, but they are looking to offload some of their unwanted players.

We previously reported that Joao Palhinha is on the verge of moving to Sporting Lisbon, with talks ongoing between the two clubs.

Likewise, Bayern are putting pressure on Sacha Boey to leave the club this summer after leaving him out of the squad for the match against Dortmund.

Kane is expected to commit his future to Bayern at some point over the next month, after which Max Eberl’s biggest challenge will be convincing Olise to sign a new contract with the club.
