Hall of Fame CB calls Trent McDuffie the best in the NFL right now

Since adding All-Pro defensive back Trent McDuffie, the Los Angeles Rams have enjoyed life with a true lockdown playmaker in the secondary. McDuffie has operated from a variety of positions, staying true to his inside-outside skill set that has allowed defensive coordinator Chris Shula to be more aggressive with his blitzes and overall play calls.

Transitioning flawlessly from the Kansas City Chiefs, McDuffie’s coverage skills, paired with his incredible feel for the game and tackling ability, have forced the opposition to change up their offensive game plans when playing the Rams.

That’s why Hall of Fame cornerback Champ Bailey said on “Up & Adams” that he believes no cornerback in the NFL is performing better than McDuffie.

“Nobody’s playing better than Trent McDuffie…”

“I will say this year, nobody’s playing better than Trent McDuffie. Nobody. He’s always been in my top five no matter what, just because of his body of work,” said Bailey. “But this year particularly, he’s earning every penny of that contract. He is playing lights out.”

The two-time Super Bowl champion signed a four-year, $124 million extension after being traded to Los Angeles, which made him the highest-paid defensive back at the time.

This season, McDuffie has 13 total tackles, one tackle for loss, one interception, and seven pass deflections in four games.
