GTA 6 First Official Post-Launch Release Confirmed For December 11

Grand Theft Auto 6 might be arriving in November, but Rockstar Games already has something planned for players to revisit in December. The studio has confirmed that GTA 6‘s original musical score will receive a separate release on December 11, giving fans another piece of the game’s world to experience after launch.

Titled Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score, the album is composed by French electronic music duo Justice, consisting of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay. Unlike the game’s main soundtrack, which features music from several established artists, this release focuses on the original compositions created for GTA 6.

Rockstar confirmed the announcement on October 29 through its official Newswire. The album will be available across major music streaming platforms, alongside physical CD and vinyl editions. It will feature 30 tracks, with additional digital bonus tracks included across formats.

Justice’s Original Score Gets A Separate Release For GTA 6

Justice’s involvement in GTA 6 is not entirely new. The duo previously contributed music to the game’s promotional material, most notably the track “Flower in a Hurricane,” featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The song appeared in the game’s launch trailer, released on October 15.

For those who loved the music in the GTA 6 launch trailer, Rockstar is now giving you a chance to experience more of Justice’s work through a dedicated album. The announcement also introduced a new single, “Pusher,” featuring French electronic music producer Gesaffelstein. The track went live on October 29 but will be part of the December release too.

Speaking to Complex, Justice’s Xavier de Rosnay explained how the scale of GTA 6’s setting called for music that could cover a broad range of emotions, genres, and textures. In fact, the duo was given considerable creative freedom while working on the project. Rockstar describes the Original Score as adaptive music, with compositions designed to respond to how players experience Vice City and Leonida throughout Jason and Lucia’s story. It’s not just background music that was cooked here.

At the same time, players should not confuse the December release with Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, which is arriving alongside the game on November 19. Announced in September through a partnership between Rockstar Games and Atlantic Records, “The Album” features 34 original tracks from a range of artists, including Travis Scott, Yung Lean, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, Keith Richards, and PinkPantheress, among others. The Album brings together songs from different artists, while Original Score focuses on Justice’s compositions created specially to enhance the GTA 6 experience.
