Governor Aliyu appoints Emir of Dutse as Sokoto State University Pro-Chancellor

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has approved the appointment of the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Muhammad Hamim Nuhu Sanusi, as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Sokoto State University.

The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Sokoto State Government as part of a series of approvals for the appointment of governing council chairmen for some tertiary institutions in the state.

According to the statement, the appointments take immediate effect and are aimed at strengthening leadership and governance in the state’s higher institutions to promote educational development and excellence.

Governor Aliyu also approved the appointment of Alhaji Yusuf Jega as chairman of the Governing Board of the College of Agriculture, while Alhaji Yusuf Muhammad Goronyo was appointed chairman of the Governing Board of Sultan Abdulrahman College of Health Technology, Gwadabawa.

Reacting to the development, the vice-chancellor of the Federal University Dutse, Professor Ahmed Muhammad Gumel, congratulated the emir on behalf of the university’s governing council, management, staff, and students.

Professor Gumel described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of the Emir’s leadership qualities, vast experience, and commitment to educational advancement, expressing confidence that he would make significant contributions to the growth and development of Sokoto State University.
