Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, has urged candidates and aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to close ranks and work together to secure victory for the party in the 2027 general elections.
Bago made the call during a special meeting with APC candidates, aspirants and key stakeholders held at the Hauwa Wali Multipurpose Hall, Government House, Minna.
The gathering was convened to strengthen unity within the party and chart a common strategy for the success of APC candidates in the upcoming elections.
Addressing participants, the governor stressed the need for party members to remain committed to the ideals of the APC, the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and his administration’s New Niger Agenda.
He said loyalty, unity and a shared vision were crucial for sustaining the party’s electoral dominance and ensuring the continued delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Niger State.
Governor Bago also urged party faithful to place the interests of the APC above individual ambitions, noting that only a united front would guarantee the party’s success in 2027.
The meeting further provided an opportunity for candidates, aspirants and other stakeholders to discuss issues affecting the party and offer suggestions aimed at strengthening its structure and improving its electoral prospects.
Among those present were the Deputy Governor of Niger State, Yakubu Garba; APC North-Central Zonal Vice Chairman, Mu’azu Bawa-Rijau; APC State Chairman, Aminu Bobi; candidates and aspirants from across the state, as well as other prominent party stakeholders.
