The Minnesota Gophers earned their first road win since 2024, upsetting Washington 27-24. The Huskies battled back from 21-7 deficit, but Minnesota did enough in the second half to start the Big Ten season 1-0.
Offensively, Drake Lindsey had a career game with 204 yards passing and 3 touchdowns.
The Danny Collins defense ended with 7 sacks, containing Demond Williams and holding the Huskies to 40 yards rushing.
Washington made some outstanding plays because they have elite players, but Minnesota held on to secure an onside kick and then, after not securing a first down, Tom Weston pinned Washington on the 2-yard line with three seconds left and the Gopher defense did not allow an epic, 98-yard touchdown.
With a 10:00 pm kickoff (CST), this game ended after 1:00 am. More to come from TDG on this game, but most importantly, it was a Gopher win!
