Giants' Abdul Carter lands on injury report with calf injury; John Harbaugh says LB is 'doing very well'

· · 1 min read

Giants pass rusher Abdul Carter was noticeably absent from the open portion of Wednesday’s practice, and it’s because the former first-round pick is dealing with a calf injury.

Head coach John Harbaugh was cryptic about Carter’s status during his availability after practice, simply saying the young linebacker was “doing very well” before confirming Carter would be on the injury report once it was published.

Carter played 87 percent of the snaps in Week 5’s tie with the Commanders, making five tackles (two solo) and picking up one sack. On the year, the Penn State product has 2.0 sacks with 14 tackles (four solo), two tackles for loss, and six QB hits.

Carter wasn’t the only Giant to miss Wednesday’s practice. OT Jermaine Eluemunor (calf), CB Colton Hood (concussion), safety Tyler Nubin (neck) and OT Andrew Thomas (groin) all did not practice.

Tight end Theo Johnson (neck), wide receiver Darnell Mooney (neck), CB Greg Newsome II (groin) and safety Jason Pinnock (concussion) were limited in practice.

But in good news, safety Elijah Campbell (thumb), running back Najee Harris (ribs) and tight end Isaiah Likely (foot) were full participants in Wednesday’s practice.

The Giants will look to pick up their fourth win of the season when they host the New Orleans Saints this Sunday.
