Luka Doncic has played seven games so far in the 2026-27 NBA season, and he has looked like the league’s best player during this early-season stretch. He is averaging a whopping 38.3 points per game on an efficient 49.7% from the field and 42.7% from beyond the arc.

Despite his scoring, that does not mean that he is struggling with the rest of his game because Doncic is still chipping in with 8.0 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game. He has truly cemented himself as a complete player, but his scoring has definitely taken the cake for his biggest strength.

Giannis Antetokounmpo sees Luka Doncic as one of the league’s best-ever scorers

Doncic has been one of the league’s best players for almost his entire career. He has cemented himself as one of the most talented players in the league, and thankfully, that is also seen in the raw numbers he is putting up.

In the Los Angeles Lakers‘ latest game, Doncic scored 42 points against the Miami Heat. Considering the Heat have a lot of solid defenders, performing like that just shows how good Doncic is as an offensive player.

Former two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo had a superb performance against the Lakers as well with 30 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists. However, that was not enough to contain Doncic. In fact, after the game, Giannis was full of praise for his fellow superstar.

“Luka is one of the best scorers to ever play this game, if not the best. Not right now, not right now. Like, of all time. I feel like some people are scared to say that, but it’s gotta be up there,” Antetokounmpo asserted about Doncic’s status as an all-time great scorer.

Giannis is making great points here because Luka has all of the makings of an all-timer. He has the arsenal of moves, the aura of an unstoppable scorer, and the numbers to boot. At the moment, Doncic is still in his prime, but his legacy might get even better when he retires.
