NORTH AUGUSTA, SC (WJBF)- The Augusta GreenJackets pitching staff has players from all walks of life, with different universities, countries, but what about talent right here in the peach state? Relief pitcher Jaylen Paden is living out his lifelong dream.
The reliever is in his first full season with the GreenJackets. So far, he8217;s appeared in 12 games, has a 2.12 ERA, and 23 strikeouts.
He received some attention from the pros at Georgia Tech, where he spent his last season in his college baseball career. Prior to his senior year, he spent three seasons with the Georgia Southern Eagles. The Decatur native is grateful to be pitching in the pros and representing an Atlanta Braves affiliate.
“I’ve got my parents, grandparents, and brother. They’re all supporting me and been rooting for the Braves since we were young, so having that kind of support system, it keeps me grounded and keeps me going and focused,” Paden said.
“It’s always nice seeing familiar faces, you might be in some unfamiliar ballparks, but I got my family, they got my back, and I got there’s, so let’s keep working, team Paden!”
