Legendary Minnesota wrestler Gable Steveson returns to the UFC Octagon this week for his second fight in the promotion against six-fight veteran Sean Sharaf. Here’s everything you need to know.

UFC is no longer broadcast on the traditional pay-per-view (PPV) model. Users with a Paramount+ subscription will be able to watch the entire event. UFC331 is at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, and the event will be headlined by a flyweight title bout between Joshua Van and Alexandre Pantoja. The co-main event is a pivotal lightweight fight between No. 1 contender Arman Tsarukyan and rising prospect Mauricio Ruffy.
The main card is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. CT, and Steveson is slotted for the second of five fights. Depending on how long the first fight lasts, Steveson’s bout will likely begin anywhere from 8:20 to 8:30 p.m. CT.
Steveson’s fight preview
Steveson is a ginormous -2200 betting favorite against relatively unknown prospect Sean Sharaf, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. This will be Steveson’s second fight in the UFC and Sharaf’s third, who is 4-2 overall, with both losses coming in the octagon.
Steveson’s legendary wrestling background gives him a huge leg up in the fight, but Sharaf won the press conference on Thursday night. The fight game has always been a no-holds-barred form of entertainment, and Steveson learned that firsthand when Sharaf brought up that he was arrested on suspicion of criminal sexual conduct in June 2019. That situation led to a suspension from the University of Minnesota wrestling team before eventually being reinstated. Steveson had to know it was going to come up at some point during his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, but he seemed relatively caught off guard by Sharaf’s comments.
