The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) is pleased to announce the commencement of applications for its Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This intensive one-year programme provides a unique opportunity for prospective students to gain Direct Entry Admission into FUTO and other JUPEB-affiliated universities in Nigeria and abroad, leading to various undergraduate degree programmes.
Eligibility Criteria
Prospective candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) O’Level Credit passes in SSCE/NECO/NABTEB, obtained at not more than two (2) sittings. These credits must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and other subjects relevant to the candidate’s desired course of study at the University. Please note that “Awaiting Results” will not be accepted.

Method of Application
Interested candidates are to follow the steps below to apply:
- Application Form: Log on to the official FUTO website: www.futo.edu.ng.
- Navigate to “Prospective Students” and click on “JUPEB Application” to apply online.
- Applicants are required to use a valid e-mail address and personal telephone numbers during the application process.
- Candidates are strongly advised to carefully follow the application instructions and ensure they select the correct subject combinations and that their names appear exactly as on their NIN slip. Errors in this regard may adversely affect the candidate’s admission.
- All candidates are required to register for the 2026 JAMB Direct Entry at the appropriate time.
Application Fee: The non-refundable application fee is N25,000, payable via Remita.
Admission Status and Lecture Commencement
- Admission Status: Candidates can confirm their admission status approximately one week after successful online application by visiting www.futo.edu.ng.
- Lectures Begin: Lectures for the 2025/2026 academic session are scheduled to commence on September 22, 2025.
