As a Student Union, we remain committed to protecting the welfare of students and continuously bridging the communication gap between students and the University Management. We understand the concerns surrounding the late registration fee, and after several engagements and observations, we wish to clearly explain the available options and necessary steps for affected students.
- For students whose courses were not uploaded on their portal early enough:
If the delay was caused by Issues from your Department, such student should kindly write a formal letter through their Head of Department (HOD), through the Dean of Students’ Affairs, addressed to the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics (DVCA), explaining the situation and requesting consideration regarding the late registration fee.
- For students affected by NELFUND-related issues:
Students whose inability to pay before the late registration period was due to delays connected to NELFUND disbursement or withdrawal processes are also advised to write a formal letter through the Dean of Students’ Affairs to the DVCA, clearly stating how the NELFUND process affected timely payment.
- For students who are yet to pay school fees:
Students who have not paid school fees before the portal closure will unfortunately still be required to pay the late registration fee. At this moment, there will be no general extension of the school fees portal, considering we are already in the second semester of the academic session.
However, we want every indigent student to know that the Union is not ignoring your struggles. After the portal closure, students genuinely affected and unable to complete payment should kindly reach out through the FUTASU General Secretary. We will properly collate the names of affected indigent students and formally engage the Management for possible individual portal reopening considerations.
Greatest Futarians, This Union hears you, understands your concerns, and will always continue to stand in the interest of fairness, understanding and students’ welfare. We may not solve every challenge instantly, but be assured that your voices are being represented responsibly and with sincerity.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and understanding.
