According to The Athletic, Fulham are currently in talks with Real Madrid about the possibility of signing Gonzalo Garcia.
If the transfer goes through, Garcia would be following in the footsteps of coach Alvaro Arbeloa, who was sacked by Real Madrid at the end of last season and has been appointed by Fulham since. Real will most likely insist on some kind of a clause that would enable them to take him back at some point in the future, should they wish to.
The 22-year-old striker obviously has no place in the starting XI in Madrid at the moment, given that there’s a certain Kylian Mbappe ahead of him in the pecking order, and though there are four years left on his contract, he is open to the idea of leaving the Spanish capital in order to play regularly elsewhere.
In all competitions last season, Garcia made 39 appearances for Real, but only started nine times in La Liga and twice in the Champions League. He scored eight goals and contributed three assists.
