· · 2 min read

Florida State lost one of its top playmakers Saturday night just after he delivered one of the game’s most electrifying moments against No. 10 Alabama.

Running back Samuel Singleton Jr. turned a short screen pass into a 65-yard gain that helped set up a Seminoles touchdown, but the big play came at a cost. Singleton later was seen leaving the field on crutches and did not return, ending his night prematurely as Florida State trailed 40-28 against Alabama entering the fourth quarter.

Before exiting, Singleton accounted for 106 all-purpose yards and continued his strong start to the season. The sophomore has been one of Florida State‘s most dynamic offensive weapons, entering the Alabama matchup with a team-leading six receptions for 94 yards and two receiving touchdowns.

The Seminoles leaned heavily on freshman running back Ousmane Kromah, who led the ground attack with 65 rushing yards and a touchdown through three quarters. Meanwhile, Tre Wisner had yet to record a carry.

Florida State now faces the challenge of mounting a fourth-quarter comeback without one of its most explosive offensive threats. Singleton’s absence would be a significant blow as the Seminoles search for answers against Alabama and look to keep their comeback hopes alive.
