The Florida State Seminoles came very close to handing the Miami Hurricanes their first loss of the season on Saturday night. They went into double overtime, but they ultimately fell short 43-35.
A huge reason why FSU was in such a tight game with Miami was the play of Ashton Daniels. He accounted for five total touchdowns (four passing, one rushing), and his 298 passing yards were his second most in a Seminoles’ uniform.
Daniels has earned a special honor for his play by being named the ACC Quarterback of the Week for the second time this season. The first came two weeks ago when he set the Florida State record with five rushing touchdowns against the Virginia Cavaliers.
Daniels has had his ups and downs in 2026, but he’s been pretty productive overall. He’s responsible for 23 total touchdowns and nearly 2,000 yards of offense in seven games. His 354 rushing yards are second on the team, and his 11 rushing touchdowns are the most in the ACC
Unfortunately, the Seminoles lost running back Ousmane Kromah for the season after he suffered an ankle/foot injury against the Hurricanes. They’ll need running back Quintrevion Wisner as well as Daniels even more now to keep Florida State’s rushing attack going.
