From Portugal: Porto break off talks with Roma for Mora

Yesterday morning, Porto broke off negotiations with Roma for Rodrigo Mora because the Giallorossi refused to accept the conditions requested by the Dragoes for the young talent’s buy clause.

These conditions include a €10 million loan fee plus a €40 million option, with clauses that could easily lead to an obligation to buy, plus bonuses tied to achieving certain objectives and a percentage of a future sale.

Roma rejected these conditions. The situation is tense, reports Portuguese news outlet Ojogo, but the deal hasn’t fallen through.

Jorge Mendes is acting as mediator, but there were no contacts between the two clubs yesterday.

Now, Roma have two options: accept Porto’s offer or improve the terms of the obligation to buy.
