Four-star forward Maci Pringle committed to Lady Vols basketball, she announced on Oct. 20.
The 6-foot-1 prospect out of Flower Mound, Texas, is ranked No. 33 in the class by ESPN, and she’s the first commitment in the 2027 class for Tennessee coach Kim Caldwell. Pringle took an official visit to Knoxville the weekend of Oct. 10.
“First off, thank you to everyone who has bought into this process with me. Every single effort, trial, and experience has shaped me into who I am today. I can’t even begin to express how truly blessed I am. To the Vols, I am incredibly grateful for the amazing staff,” Pringle said on Instagram. “It’s official. Thank you all and GO VOLS!”
Pringle started collecting offers from SEC programs this spring, including Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Georgia, Ole Miss, Alabama and Tennessee, which offered her in May. She took visits to Arizona State, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Oregon and Georgia before taking a visit with the Lady Vols.
Pringle’s official visit coincided with her birthday, and she posted a carousel of photos with players, staff and her family from the weekend.
“@ladyvol_hoops thank you for an unforgettable birthday and visit! Much love!!! Volunteers what’s tha word?????” she wrote in an Instagram post.
Pringle led Flower Mound to the state championship game for the first time in school history last season, averaging 21 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.5 steals her junior year. She averaged 21.7 points and 11.3 rebounds in the final three playoff games, even after fracturing her nose in the first round.
Pringle surpassed 1,000 career points last season and set a school record for points in a season with 796. She was selected as The Dallas Morning News All-Area Player of the Year in March.
