Former Florida State Seminole Robert McCray V has signed a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, becoming the second player from Luke Loucks’ inaugural season to have the opportunity to play professionally.
McCray has signed an Exhibit 10 deal, according to FSU. The deal is a one-year deal and includes an invitation to the Lakers’ training camp, where he will look to the converted into a two-way contract.
The 6’4″ guard played in all 33 games for FSU and was named to the All-ACC Third Team and All-ACC Tournament First Team. During the tournament, he averaged 27.5 points and 6.0 assists.
He led the team in scoring with 16.3 points per game as well, helping the Seminoles to an 18-15 overall record and establishing Loucks’ culture. McCray also scored more than 500 points total this season, one of just 12 players nationally to do so.
McCray joins former Seminoles Scottie Barnes, Johnathan Isaac, and Devin Vassell in the ranks of the NBA. He, alongside Lajae Jones (who was drafted 54th overall by Golden State), will look to establish themselves in the league with strong performances this offseason.
