Former Clemson starting out fielder announces transfer, heading to Big Ten

One of Clemsonbaseball’s transfer additions from a year ago is on the move again.

Outfielder Bryce Clavon announced Thursday that he will continue his college career at Penn State, giving the Nittany Lions an experienced player with time remaining to make an impact. Clavon spent the 2026 season with Clemson after arriving from Georgia and carved out a significant role in the Tigers’ lineup during his lone year in orange.

Clavon saw extensive action in the outfield, earning 38 starts throughout the season. Much of that work came in center field, where he provided athleticism and versatility defensively. At the plate, he finished the year with a .255 batting average while adding five home runs and 18 RBIs. He also produced extra-base power with six doubles and a triple. On the bases, Clavon showed his speed by swiping nine bags in 13 attempts.

Before making the move to Clemson, Clavon spent the 2025 season at Georgia. Opportunities were more limited during his time with the Bulldogs, as he appeared in 27 games and made one start. Even in a smaller role, he flashed some potential with a home run, a double and a triple among his five hits.

Now, Clavon is set for another change as he heads to the Big Ten. The veteran outfielder still has two years of eligibility available as he prepares for the next chapter of his college baseball career at Penn State.
