Titus Welliver‘s new crime thriller series continues to prove itself and enduring streaming sensation, and it has just hit a massive milestone. Welliver’s list of TV shows includes quite a few hits in the crime thriller genre. Chief among those is the popular Bosch franchise. Based on the Michael Connelly novels, Welliver has starred as the detective Harry Bosch in both the original Bosch series and its sequel, Bosch: Legacy. The actor has also reprised the role as a guest star in the Bosch spin-off series Ballard. That is not the extent of Welliver’s experience in the crime thriller genre.
On TV, Welliver has also appeared in crime shows like Dark Winds, The Equalizer, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Mentalist, and many others. At a time when the genre is thriving, with shows like Taylor Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown and Tulsa King taking over the genre when it comes to streaming, Welliver is once again back in a hit crime thriller series that is not stopping its successful run anytime soon. Welliver’s new 2026 crime thriller series is The Westies, with names like J. K. Simmons and Tom Brittney, and it has just crossed an important streaming milestone.
Welliver’s The Westies Has Crossed An Epic Streaming Milestone
According to data from FlixPatrol, The Westies recently hit the mark of 100 days on the MGM+ TOP 10 Overall (from Amazon Channels) chart. This is a major feat for the new crime thriller series, as not only is it a long run, with The Westies currently trending on the streamer for 104 days, but it comes in a chart that features both movies and TV shows, making the MGM+ list quite competitive. Right now, The Westies holds the biggest streak on the MGM+ chart by far, with the closest entry on the list being Liam Neeson’s Cold Storage, at 75 days.
When it comes to the show’s position on the MGM+ daily Top 10 Overall chart, The Westies is also hanging on to the list, currently standing as the streamer’s 8th most popular movie or TV show. It ranks higher than Boo 2! A Madea Halloween, the Western classic Tombstone, and Neeson’s Cold Storage. At the very top of the MGM+ chart is Treasure Island, the new adventure series based on the classic story, which features actors like David Oyelowo, Hayley Atwell, and more. The Westies‘ new streaming milestone comes as the crime series’ future hangs in the balance.

At the time of writing, The Westies has yet to be renewed for season 2 on MGM+. The crime drama debuted on the streaming service on July 12 with a two-episode premiere. Welliver’s crime series then released the rest of season 1’s eight episodes weekly, concluding on August 23.
Waiting a few months before announcing a renewal is par for the course in the streaming age, and with a solid 74% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, and a similar 76% audience score, as well as the show’s new streaming milestone, The Westies has a good chance of returning for more episodes on MGM+. Speaking to ScreenRant, multiple The Westies cast members teased their hopes for season 2, so the plan is to come back for more, pending on a green light.
