FME Bids Farewell to Enitan as New Head of Civil Service

The Federal Ministry of Education has bid farewell to its Permanent Secretary, Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, following his appointment as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF).

Enitan’s departure marks the end of his 17-month tenure at the Federal Ministry of Education.

At a handover ceremony in Abuja, Enitan expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa, and the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, for the opportunity to serve in the ministry.

Reflecting on his tenure, the former Permanent Secretary commended directors and staff of the ministry for their professionalism and commitment to advancing education and human capital development.

He urged them to uphold integrity, accountability, teamwork and professionalism in the discharge of their duties, while emphasising the need for data-driven decision-making and prudent management of public resources.

Enitan also encouraged staff to embrace lifelong learning, mentorship and continuous improvement, stressing the importance of delivering measurable results for Nigerians.

As part of the handover process, he transferred the ministry’s operational documents to the Director of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr Folake Olatunji-David, who will oversee the Office of the Permanent Secretary in an acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Permanent Secretary.

Olatunji-David pledged to sustain the ministry’s achievements through continuity, collaboration, teamwork and effective service delivery.

The Federal Ministry of Education congratulated Enitan on his new national assignment and expressed confidence in his continued support for the education sector.
