Amateur racer was 14
It is always difficult for us to report when a racer succumbs to injuries from racing. It’s especially hard when the racer was only 14 years old. It is with heavy heart that we report that amateur flat track racer Alyssa Kruppenbacker of Crescent City, Florida, has passed away following an incident during the AMA Flat Track Grand Championship in Du Quoin, Illinois.
The usual platitudes of racers knowing the risks they face, or dying doing what they loved may hold true, regardless of how old a racer is, or what level they are competing in. But words don’t change how much it hurts to hear the news.
Motorcycle.com joins the AMA in expressing our deepest condolences to the Kruppenbacker family, and anyone who knew Alyssa.

AMA Saddened by Passing of Amateur Flat-Track Racer Alyssa Kruppenbacker
The American Motorcyclist Association is saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of AMA member and amateur flat-track racer Alyssa Kruppenbacker from Crescent City, Fla. She was 14 years old.
Alyssa passed away following an on-track incident during the Mile program of the AMA Flat Track Grand Championship in Du Quoin, Ill.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Kruppenbacker family and the entire flat-track community.
