Teams competing at the women’s basketball World Cup in Berlin had a scare in the early hours of Sunday when the fire alarm went off at their hotel.
The alarm went off shortly after 2 am (0000 GMT) and all teams had to wait in the street until the all-clear was given. The athletes were allowed to return to their rooms at around 3 am.
All teams, except for top favourites United States, are staying at the same hotel. The US, led by several WNBA stars including Caitlin Clark, have arranged their own accommodation.
