FG launches DTA, targets 32,000 Nigerians

The minister added that the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP) could further help connect the growing pool of skilled Nigerians to opportunities in the global marketplace.

The linkage between the programmes is expected to provide beneficiaries with a more structured progression, beginning with technical skills acquisition and potentially moving through certification and access to employment or enterprise opportunities.

Strengthening Nigeria’s Digital Workforce

The launch of the Digital Training Academy comes as the Federal Government continues to place greater emphasis on digital skills as part of its education and economic development agenda.

By providing government-funded access to established global learning platforms, the initiative is expected to broaden opportunities for Nigerians seeking to build careers in technology and other digitally driven fields.

The government’s approach also reflects an effort to move beyond traditional education pathways by ensuring that learning is connected to practical skills and recognised credentials that can improve participants’ prospects in the labour market.

For beneficiaries, the programme provides an opportunity to access structured training in fields that are increasingly relevant to employers both within Nigeria and internationally.

The government’s broader objective, through NESRI and its related initiatives, is to create stronger links between education, skills development and economic participation.

With the Digital Training Academy now launched, 32,000 Nigerians are expected to benefit from access to the training opportunities, while the connection with 3MTT and NATEP provides a broader framework for moving skilled Nigerians from training and certification towards jobs, enterprise and opportunities in the global digital economy.
