The government said the declaration reflects its recognition of the faith and spiritual significance of the celebration for millions of Muslims in Nigeria and around the world.

Tunji-Ojo congratulated Muslims both within Nigeria and in the diaspora, describing Eid-ul-Adha as a festival centered on sacrifice, obedience to God, and compassion for humanity. He also urged Nigerians to use the holiday period to pray for peace, security, unity, and the continued progress of the country.

The Federal Government further encouraged citizens to promote brotherhood, peaceful coexistence, and national unity during the celebration while wishing Muslims a joyful and peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
