According to Calciomercato, Federico Chiesa is ready to leave Liverpool in January, and three Serie A clubs – namely Inter Milan, Atalanta and Lazio – are interested in his services.
Chiesa joined Liverpool from Juventus in 2024 for €12 million, and in his third season at Anfield now, he is still struggling to warrant a place in Andoni Iraola’s plans. In all this time, he’s only made 32 appearances in the Premier League, and most of those as a substitute, scoring just twice and providing a single assist. This season, a muscle injury has kept him out of action from the start.
Only a few months ago, the 28-year-old said he was prepared to fight for his place in the Liverpool team, claiming there had been “too many fresh starts” in his career, but things have apparently changed since. It’s rather telling that Iraola chose to leave him out of the Champions League squad for the group stage of the competition.
Chiesa is believed to be aiming to earn his place in the Italian national side again, but for that to happen, he needs regular game time.
