Fans face record prices for Ole Miss vs LSU game

· · 3 min read

Fans hoping to see Ole Miss host LSU on Sept. 19 may have to pay some of the highest prices ever seen for a Rebels home game.

With the matchup still weeks away, secondary-market tickets on major resale sites were generally starting above $500, with many lower-bowl seats listed for $650 to $700 or more and premium locations commanding well over $1,000 per ticket.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 8, StubHub showed more than 270 listings available for the game, with the lowest-priced tickets starting at about $623 including fees. Many of the best available lower-level seats were listed between roughly $677 and $709, while select premium locations exceeded $1,500 per ticket.

Current SeatGeek listings similarly showed get-in prices above the $500 mark, underscoring continued demand for what is expected to be one of the most anticipated games of the 2026 season.

The eye-popping prices exceed those reported for several recent marquee games in Oxford, including Ole Miss‘s first-round College Football Playoff game against Tulane in December 2025 and a highly anticipated home matchup against Georgia in 2024.

That means current LSU get-in prices of roughly $623 on StubHub are several hundred dollars higher than the lowest-priced tickets reported before the playoff game.

The LSU game also appears to be drawing stronger demand than the Nov. 9, 2024, home game against Georgia. A USA TODAY Sports ticket report published during game week found the cheapest available ticket for that matchup was $243.

While no comprehensive historical database was found that tracks resale prices for every Ole Miss home game, it would appear the Sept. 19 contest ranks among the most expensive games ever played at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

And prices for tickets, much like everything else, have dramatically changed over the years. Before the big Ole Miss-Alabama game in 2014, when ESPN GameDay was in Oxford Katy Perry was the guest, Saturday Down South reported that the average asking price for a ticket was about $280, a figure that was considered potentially the highest ever for a game in Oxford at the time.

The game carries significance well beyond a typical SEC contest as LSU has pushed the limits of the SEC with the drama surrounding former NFL players being allowing on college rosters. Add to that the LSU blowout win against Clemson, and Tiger fans cannot wait to get to Oxford.

Meanwhile, Ole Miss had to rely on a 48-yard field goal at the gun to beat No. 24 Louisville in Nashville. Each team has games they are expected to win this week before the tumultuous game on Sept. 19.
