Baltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton is receiving flak for his recent comments. During Thursday’s press conference, he was asked to share his thoughts on the team’s defensive struggles this season.
Hamilton said that he urges his defensive backs not to push themselves to their limit. He also highlighted the importance of having fun on the gridiron.
“I try to relay this message to the DBs, like, it’s a game at the end of the day,” Hamilton said. “I feel like sometimes we’re thinking the whole world’s going to end if something bad happens. That’s not the approach that you need to have in the sport.”
“None of our tombstones are going to say, ‘Kyle Hamilton football player.’ It’s a game that we play. We need to have fun doing it. We need to be out there playing the game like we’re playing a game.”
Fans questioned Kyle Hamilton’s discipline and dedication to the franchise and football after his comments. Some also compared his mentality to franchise legends Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, considered among the best defensive players of all time.
