Ex-Man Utd striker, Diego Forlan lands new managerial job

Former Manchester United striker, Diego Forlan, has landed a new managerial job.

The 47-year-old has been appointed as the new head coach of Uruguay’s national football team.

Forlan, who also played for Atletico Madrid during his professional career, will also coach the Uruguayan Under-20s side.

His appointment comes after Marcelo Bielsa stepped down after Uruguay failure to qualify from the group stage at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“One of the most important figures in the history of La Celeste begins a new chapter: he will be the head coach of both the Under-20 and Senior National Teams,” a Uruguayan Football Association statement read.
