Kade Anderson impressed in the sixth start of his MLB career. The former LSU pitcher earned a win and threw a quality start for the Seattle Mariners in Sunday’s game against the Colorado Rockies. The victory, in his most impressive MLB start thus far, improves his record to 2-2.
The southpaw hurled seven shutout innings. Anderson allowed just three hits and struck out seven. It is the first scoreless outing of his MLB career. He got 14 swings-and-misses throughout the contest. Two of those hits came in the second inning and put runners on first and second with one out. Anderson rebounded by inducing two groundouts to end the threat.
Since the Mariners are close to being eliminated from playoff contention, Anderson will likely have one more start before the end of 2026. It will likely come in the last series against the Los Angeles Angels. About a month after his debut, Anderson worked into the starting rotation.

Over six starts and 32.1 innings, Anderson has a 4.18 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP along with 28 strikeouts. He excelled in Double-A with the Arkansas Travelers all season. Through 18 starts and 93.1 innings pitched, he posted a 1.06 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. Anderson racked up 135 strikeouts before getting the call-up.
