Everton, Chelsea agree £24+6m Tyrique George transfer — report

Tyrique George spent the second half of last season at Everton, impressing the locals in his limited minutes and cameos. But even though his loan included a loan-option, the Toffees would decide to pass.

However, they did not want to pass on the player himself. So instead, they’ve now negotiated a separate transfer agreement, which, according to the BBC, includes a £24m up-front fee, plus £6m in potential add-ons “based on European qualification and appearances”. Oh, and Chelsea have also retained a 15 per cent sell-on!

So that’s pretty good negotiating on our part considering that the buy-option was probably in the same ballpark (perhaps with a different set of add-ons and such). Last summer, Chelsea would’ve settled for £20m, which was the agreed fee with Fulham before that transfer fell through at the last minute.

George made 11 appearances in Everton blue last season, to go along with another 11 made in Chelsea Blue. Overall, the 20-year-old Academy standout, our 2025 Academy Player of the Season, leaves with 37 senior appearances for Chelsea, with 6 goals, including one at the Club World Cup as well as that one equalizer against Fulham which helped save that 2024-25 season.
