Tyrique George believes there is still a lot more to come from him in an Everton shirt after completing a permanent move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday.

George spent the second half of the 2025-26 campaign on loan with Everton from Chelsea, but has now penned a four-year deal with the Toffees.

The 20-year-old made 11 appearances during his loan spell under David Moyes, though only one of those came in the starting line-up.

Everton allowed the option to buy clause in his loan to expire as they negotiated a different price, with reports suggesting the fee could rise to £24m with add-ons.

George’s move ends a 12-year association with Chelsea after he rose through their academy, but his sole focus is now on delivering for Everton on a regular basis.

“There is a lot more to come from me and with the manager, the coaches and my teammates, I know I’m in a great place to show it,” George told Everton’s official website.

“Everton is an environment that demands hard work from everyone, and I will give everything.

“To be in for the start of pre-season is something I was keen on. Now I’m really excited to get going again.”

The completion of George’s move follows the addition of highly-rated midfielder Hayden Hackney, who joined Everton from Championship side Middlesbrough.

Everton also confirmed on Monday that a permanent move for Merlin Rohl had been formally activated and processed from Freiburg of the Bundesliga.

Rohl’s season-long loan with Everton last season saw him make 17 appearances in all competitions, scoring once in a 3-1 defeat to Sunderland in the Premier League.

On George’s addition, Everton manager Moyes said: “We’re pleased to bring Tyrique back on a permanent basis.

“He made a positive impression during his loan spell with us last season and settled into the group quickly.

“He’s still young and there’s plenty of development ahead of him, but we believe he’s got the attitude and the ability to keep improving.

“We’re looking forward to working with him again and helping him fulfil his potential.”

Everton, who missed out on a spot in Europe last season, begin their 2026-27 Premier League campaign at home to Crystal Palace on August 22.
