Miguel Rojas injury: Latest news on Dodgers infielder after leaving Game 3 of NLDS against Braves

The Los Angeles Dodgers have had plenty of postseason heroes during their World Series runs in 2024 and 2025.

Last year, the biggest may have been backup infielder Miguel Rojas, who hit a game-tying home run in Game 7 against the Toronto Blue Jays in the ninth inning.

As a result, Rojas has continued to get opportunities in 2026 and was inserted into the starting lineup for Game 3 against the Atlanta Braves in this year’s NLDS. He also started Game 2 in place of Max Muncy at third base.

Rojas was put in to hit against Braves left-hander Chris Sale given his platoon advantage as a right-handed hitter. It did not work out through his first three at-bats as he went 0-for-3 with a strikeout.

Rojas remained in the game for a fourth at-bat in the eighth inning against Braves reliever Brent Suter, who is also a southpaw.

Unfortunately, he did not finish the at-bat. After fouling off the second pitch he immediately reached for his lower back with his left arm.

A trainer came out to visit Rojas and after a brief discussion he was removed from the game with Tommy Edman taking over mid at-bat. Edman popped up shortly after. The Dodgers have not released any updates on the injury.

If Rojas’ injury is serious enough to keep him out for the remainder of the NLDS, the Dodgers would have to replace him on the roster.

That would also keep him out of the NLCS should Los Angeles advance, which would be a huge loss given the calm and postseason experience he brings to a team that has relied on him in big moments before.
