Great Britain lead the medal table at the European Athletics Championships 2026 after Amy Hunt completed her sprint double, winning the women’s 200 metres gold after claiming the 100m title on Monday.
Hunt could complete a sprint quadruple should Britain triumph in the 4x100m relay and the mixed 4x100m relay. “Two out of four, baby!” Hunt said on the BBC.
In what has been a successful Championships for Great Britain so far on the track, Matthew Hudson-Smith won a third European 400m title on Wednesday night to become the joint-most decorated man in Europe of all time.
The Wolverhampton native won his eighth medal at the championships on his childhood track, adding to golds won by sprinters Romell Glave and Amy Hunt in the 100m earlier this week.
