EPL: ‘Rubbish’ – Cole Palmer reacts as Chelsea attackers get new name

Chelsea midfielder, Cole Palmer, has expressed his opinion regarding the club’s attacking trio, which includes him, Joao Pedro and Morgan Rogers, being given a new name, ‘JP Morgan’.

The Englishman believes they should adopt a different name, as he finds the current one to be ‘rubbish’.

The Blues commenced their 2026/27 Premier League season with a 3-2 victory over Fulham, securing maximum points.

During the match at Craven Cottage, all three players—Palmer, Pedro, and Rogers—scored.

Despite concerns regarding goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, Chelsea supporters remain optimistic that their attacking trio will prove decisive in matches.

Both Palmer and Pedro assisted each other in their goals against Fulham, while Rogers was instrumental in creating five scoring opportunities during the game.

Many fans quickly dubbed the trio ‘JP Morgan’ due to their impressive synergy on the field. However, Palmer is not fond of this nickname and instead praised the unique attributes that Pedro and Rogers contribute to Chelsea.

The 24-year-old player also mentioned that the three of them complement each other well, which enhances their effectiveness during matches.

Palmer told Sky Sports, “It’s a rubbish name. We need to come up with something better than that. I think we’ve got a different mix of qualities. Joao can do a bit of everything. Morgan’s more physical and I’m more technical, so I think we’ve got a good balance.”

Having dealt with a groin injury last season, Palmer may be rested for the Carabao Cup second round match against Luton Town. However, Xabi Alonso has confirmed that the forward is fully fit to participate.
