Elite wonderkid “can be considered a new Arsenal player”, says Fabrizio Romano

Arsenal have reportedly formally sealed the signing of Georgian wonderkid Andria Bartishvili, according to transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano.

The highly-rated 17-year-old looks like an exciting prospect with a big future in the game, and the Gunners have done well to snap him up before other big clubs could.

See below as Romano has posted on X about the Bartishvili saga after some recent reports from Georgia about him heading to the Emirates Stadium.

Romano now says: “Georgian talent Andria Bartishvili can be considered a new Arsenal player. Medical completed, contract set to be signed and deal formally sealed. 🇬🇪 Bartishvili will join #AFC first team in summer 2027 when he turns 18.”

This is not the first we’ve heard about Arsenal targeting Bartishvili, with BBC Sport also linking them strongly with the teenager earlier in the summer.

At that time, they also claimed that Liverpool and Juventus were among his suitors, but it now looks like everything with Arsenal is done, though the club have not yet officially announced the deal, which is set to go through in 2027.

Arsenal fans will hope they’ve secured the signature of another elite Georgian talent after the success of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia at the top level in Europe in recent times.

Now a multiple Champions League winner with Paris Saint-Germain, Kvaratskhelia made a name for himself at Napoli in what proved to be an excellent investment by the Serie A giants.

Bartishvili looks like a similar style of player, so it could be that with the right guidance and coaching he could go on to replicate the success Kvaratskhelia has had.

Of course, there’ll be plenty of competition for places at Arsenal, so it won’t be easy, but for now this looks like a smart piece of business for a player who should go up in value in the years to come.
