ABERDEEN, S.D. (KELO) — Dakota Valley softball held off a late five run push from Elk Point-Jefferson to claim the Class ‘A’ title at the Players Softball Complex on Saturday.

The Panthers worked their way to a 9-1 advantage heading into the seventh inning where the eight-seed Huskies would score five runs in a comeback attempt. Emma Barnett earned the win in the circle with 12 hits, six runs, five strikeouts, and no walks across seven innings.
