Nobody would have thought the Oregon Ducks football team would be in this position heading into Game 3 of the season against Portland State, needing a convincing win in the worst way. However, after the embarrassing 39-31 loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys a week ago, Dan Lanning and his team are searching for answers.

So far, through two games, the Ducks have far subverted their national championship expectations, and questions are present at just about every position group on the roster. Why is Dante Moore looking worse than last year? What’s up with the offensive line and the rushing attack? Is this defensive line as good as we expected? Has the secondary regressed from an impressive 2025 season?

We aren’t going to get any answers on Friday night against the Portland State Vikings, but at the very least, Oregon can quell some concerns about effort and execution in a game where they are favored to win by more than nine touchdowns.
