The Los Angeles Dodgers remain the cream of the crop in MLB, as their consistency year after year is something to behold. On Thursday, the Dodgers sealed the inevitable, winning their 13th NL West title in 14 seasons, with an 8-2 victory on the road against the Cincinnati Reds, giving them a 93-60 record on the season thus far.

LA has won everything there is to win over the past decade or so, but winning a division title is never easy even though they’ve made it look like it, making it a cause for celebration every single time. But the Dodgers, having won so much already, have to spice up their celebrations from time to time the way utility man Kike Hernandez did on Thursday.

Hernandez, during the Dodgers’ champagne-popping celebration in the locker room, was caught on camera pouring a bottle of champagne down the shorts of ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Yamamoto appeared to be caught off guard by this wild act from his teammate, and he tried his best afterwards to remove the bottle that Hernandez put inside his shorts.

Hernandez has already won three World Series titles with the Dodgers, so he certainly is no stranger to some out of pocket scenes in the locker room during this sort of celebration. But it’s a testament to how close this team is and how comfortable they are with each other that Hernandez can get away with such a wild act that is, of course, all in jest.

Both Hernandez and Yamamoto have been postseason heroes for the Dodgers, with the former starring for them in 2024 and latter pitching his heart out last year. They have already shown that they have the clutch gene, so when the dust settles on this celebration, fans can be certain that both of them will lock in as well as they proceed in their quest to win three consecutive World Series titles.
