“Different environment to play football” Arteta reacts to Arsenal win at Napoli

Mikel Arteta is happy that his Arsenal team managed to open their Champions League campaign with a win as the Gunners found a way to beat Napoli at the Maradona Stadium last night.

It was one of their finest performances, but they struggled to find the finish in attack despite opening up the Italian side’s defence several times.

It was one of those games Arsenal could have lost despite dominating, because if Napoli had taken their chances, the Gunners could have struggled to get back into the game.

This Arsenal team has been superb in European football and was spotless in the league phase last season, so they had to prove their worth in Italy, and they managed to do just that.

It was not an easy night for Arteta’s team, but Arsenal managed to get the job done. They showed their quality throughout the match and created several opportunities against a strong Napoli side.

Arteta was delighted with the result and his team’s performance as he spoke at the post-match conference. He praised their hunger, desire and ability to dominate the game.

“A really tough place to come and a really different environment to play football, a beautiful one, by the way, against a really good team.

“I love the way we attacked the game, the way we competed, the hunger that we showed, the desire to dominate, to come here, to own the pitch, and the quality that we showed against a team that it’s so difficult to create chances against. We created a huge amount of them and the result doesn’t reflect what we saw on the pitch.”

Arteta’s comments highlight how pleased he was with the way Arsenal approached the contest. The Gunners were able to impose themselves despite playing in a difficult environment against a strong opponent.

Although the scoreline did not fully reflect their performance, Arsenal secured the result they needed. The victory gives them an excellent start to their Champions League campaign and further demonstrates their quality in European football.

Arsenal will now look to build on the result as they continue their pursuit of success across all competitions this season.
