Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Sets New All-Time Franchise Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score Record

The Dexter franchise has been running for 20 years, and the series has seen many ups and downs. Originating from Jeff Lindsay’s book series, the vigilante serial killer has taken the world by storm, with Michael C. Hall bringing Dexter Morgan to life. It appears the franchise is only getting better with age because the spinoff series, including Dexter: Resurrection, are breaking records and have been praised worldwide for their fresh take on the iconic character.

Dexter Morgan has returned to New York, and this time it’s even more hectic than ever. Dexter: Resurrection season 2 premiered on October 30, and audiences are finally having their say on the new season. Dexter’s return has already broken a record, and season 2 has the highest Rotten Tomatoes audience rating in the entire franchise, with a near-perfect 98%. With over 50 reviews, audiences are already becoming fans of an older, but maybe not wiser, vigilante serial killer.

Audience reviews have come pouring in after the season 2 premiere for Resurrection. Some reviews stated, “Very good show I can’t wait for the next episode and hopefully a season 3,” as well as “Just simply amazing very engaging and exciting to watch Hall perform and keep Dex going. I’m sure the entire season will be amazing, and I’m already counting the days for Nov 6th to watch the next episode.” Critics are also seemingly approving of Resurrection season 2 and has given an 88% rating based on 8 reviews.

Critics have been sharing their thoughts and said: “Showrunner Clyde Phillips manages to still keep this show fresh by focusing on what makes it work,” “While Dexter himself tries to find himself, the series is finally hitting a stride. Season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection is one of the best seasons ever. A strong reminder why we love this dark passenger!” and “Sometime after the dirge that was ‘New Blood,’ the writers remembered that ‘Dexter’ needed to be fun again and shifted into the entertaining reality the franchise is in now. Never bet against Dexter Morgan.”

ScreenRant‘s Sean Morrison shared that, “Dexter: Resurrection season 2 is devilishly delightful and could easily be the best season of Dexter that we’ve gotten in years.”
