Denver Broncos player arrested on domestic violence charges

The NFL is dealing with yet another domestic abuse case; this time, it’s denver-broncos/332" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Denver Broncos Jonathon Cooper.

According to cooper-arrested-accused-domestic-violence/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">CBS Sports and Douglas County Jail records, Cooper, 28, was booked into the jail on two counts of domestic violence and one count of criminal mischief.

The records show that Cooper was arrested by the Parker Police Department and booked into jail at 2:38 a.m. Friday. This was after police responded to an address in the 9500 block of S. Twenty Mile Road in Parker at 8:42 p.m. Thursday.

Cooper and an unidentified female were both arrested after a fight ensued over cheating allegations. Officers said the woman threw Cooper’s phone and he bit her phone, leaving both phones damaged.

Cooper, who is an inside linebacker, was going into his fifth season with the Broncos and was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week last year after the team’s Week 6 victory over the New York Jets.

Neither the Broncos nor the NFL has yet to release a statement on Cooper’s arrest. As in most situations like this, teams tend to wait until all the details come to light before making a comment.
