De Rossi has no doubts: “Roma are very strong.”

Daniele De Rossi looks to the Scudetto race and promotes his Roma.

Interviewed by La Gazzetta Sportiva, the former midfielder and then coach of the Giallorossi also discussed the Roman side’s current situation in the league.

The former Roma captain, asked about his former team’s chances of challenging Inter for the Scudetto, answered without hesitation: “Roma is a very strong team.”

In any case, De Rossi isn’t giving too many predictions and is focusing on Fiorentina, Genoa’s next opponent in the league: “It will be a tricky match.”

During the interview, another former Roma player, Stephan El Shaarawy, arrived in Genoa during the last summer transfer window. When asked about El Shaarawy’s role, De Rossi replied: “Stephan is a winger. He spent his entire career there. We brought him in to fill that gap on the wings: you need players who can invent something, create, and beat their man. We also need to understand that there’s a fitness issue: he arrived last, and it’s possible that he’ll struggle a bit physically.”
