On Saturday, Texas football may get five starters back for its trip to play Missouri. The Longhorns also may not.
Edge rusher Colin Simmons, receivers Ryan Wingo and Cam Coleman and defensive backs Kade Phillips and Graceson Littleon were all designated as “questionable” on the Longhorns’ first availability report of the week. When healthy, all five of those players are starters.

Simmons has missed UT’s last two games with a leg injury, but he still leads the country with his 10 ½ sacks. Wingo and Coleman have combined for 11 touchdown catches. Littleton and Phillips belong to a secondary that ranks 12th nationally with the 170.8 yards it is allowed per game.

On Wednesday, Texas also ruled that running back Hollywood Smothers, tight end Nick Townsend and edge rusher Richard Wesley won’t play against Missouri. Offensive lineman Trevor Goosby, who has reportedly suffered a season-ending knee injury, is also listed as “out” on the availability report.
Texas (6-2, 3-2) is set to travel to Missouri (6-2, 3-2) for the first time since 2011. The Longhorns and Tigers were ranked seventh and 18th in the initial College Football Playoff rankings this week.
