Kawhi Leonard has been one of the latest star players to receive trade interest among teams in the NBA this offseason.
We’ve heard over the last day or so that they’ve engaged in serious trade talks on Leonard with the Raptors, but they still have some work to do if they want to complete a deal.
It appeared at first that deal could be announced very soon, but a recent intel update suggests it might take longer for a Kawhi trade to happen, if one happens at all.
Clippers reportedly in no rush to trade Kawhi Leonard
ClutchPoints reported on Tuesday, “The Clippers are also said to be in no rush to trade Leonard, who has one year still remaining on his deal.”

This doesn’t mean a trade won’t happen in the end, but the Clippers would like to use leverage to get what they believe they deserve in return for a player like Leonard.
The main outline of the deal appears to be settled, but the Clippers are still trying to squeeze out some extra assets like picks and even another player, possibly.
It would be hard to imagine that the Clippers wouldn’t hear out offers from other teams if they do choose to drag Leonard trade talks further into the offseason.
ClutchPoints report also detailed that the Clippers have indeed offered Leonard an extension, but the value does not match as much as Leonard can be offered.
