The Kansas City Chiefs have spent years looking for improved offensive tackle depth to help protect Patrick Mahomes.
Turns out that right now, they might have too much depth on the outside of their offensive line.
The depth is significant enough that Wanya Morris wants to be traded.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Chiefs and Morris “have agreed to explore trade options.”
Fowler adds that Morris “would like the chance to play more, and Kansas City has tackle depth.”

Morris was originally a third-round pick by the Chiefs in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma, previously having played college football at Tennessee, too.
Morris got a Super Bowl ring in his rookie season, a campaign in which he played in 14 games, including four starts. He also appeared in two postseason games that year.
In 2024, Morris played all 17 games and started 11 of them. He also caught a 1-yard pass for a touchdown.
In 2025, Morris lost his starting job. He played in 12 games, only one of them a start.
Morris had already been a trade candidate prior to the 2025 season as it was clear the Chiefs might want to upgrade at the tackle spot.
Now with depth, Kansas City might look for a future asset from a team that could use a player with starting experience at a tackle spot.
The language used by Fowler, “explore trade options,” doesn’t sound like anything will happen super quickly here, but there may be a move down the road.
